Right Angle Gearboxes
Publication date:2025/10/29 23:32:24 popularity: [content:visits]
The alignment between the diesel engine and the H-series right angle gearbox (90 ° steering) is a key step in ensuring smooth power transmission, reducing vibration, and extending equipment life. The center line of the diesel engine output shaft and the input shaft of the H-series right angle gearbox (90 ° steering) must be adjusted to the same straight line through precise mechanical centering method, with a deviation controlled within 0.05mm. The following are the specific operational procedures and technical points:
1、 Preparation for the Middle Front
Equipment fixation and cleaning
Ensure that the diesel engine and H-series right angle gearbox (90 ° steering) are securely installed on the base, and the anchor bolts are tightened. Clean the oil stains and rust on the end face and shaft neck of the coupling to avoid measurement errors.
Check the foundation and elastic support
The foundation should be flat and sturdy. If shock-absorbing pads or elastic supports are used, it is necessary to confirm that their pre compression shrinkage meets the requirements to prevent displacement during operation.
Preliminary alignment
Use a ruler or visual inspection method to perform rough alignment, ensuring that the two axis end faces are parallel and the circumference is aligned, laying the foundation for subsequent precision alignment.
2、 Precision alignment method (recommended laser alignment instrument or dial gauge method)
Method 1: Double percentage table method (commonly used and reliable)
·Install a magnetic gauge holder on one side of the coupling, and set up axial and radial dial gauges respectively.
·Rotate the two axes synchronously to four positions: 0 °, 90 °, 180 °, and 270 °, and record the readings at each point.
·Calculate deviation value:
·Radial deviation=(maximum value - minimum value)/2
·Axial deviation=Non parallelism of the end face reflected by the difference in readings between the two meters
·Adjust the up, down, left, and right positions by adding or removing the foot pads of the diesel engine or H-series right angle gearbox (90 ° steering) until the radial and axial deviations are both ≤ 0.05mm.
Method 2: Laser centering instrument method (high-precision, suitable for large equipment)
·Install the laser emitter and detector on both sides of the coupling.
·Start the system to automatically collect data and display the offset and angle deviation in real-time.
·Adjust the device position according to the instrument prompts, and ultimately achieve dynamic alignment with an accuracy of up to 0.01mm.
